Are You Wondering If You Need New Shingles?
Here are some things to look for.
Quick Looks
Cracked or Lifted Shingles
If your shingles are no longer flat and uniform they will begin to allow water to slip through and damage the wood and structure underneath.
Leaking Water
If water has come through into your home this is a sign of damage/faulty shingles or possible improper installation during the previous job.
Sagging or Damaged Roof
Divots or indents appear when water has found its way through and gotten into the plywood or pillars and has possibly caused structural damage.
Nail Integrity
If nails are missing or popping through these leave a small hole through the material becoming the perfect path way for water to enter.
Flashing
Check the metal flashing around your chimney, vents, and skylights. Make sure the caulk isn't cracked or missing, and that the metal isn't rusted or corroded.
